As with all other elements of GPS products and services, GPS System software is written in-house

• as an integral part of our turnkey control system solutions
• for other third-party solutions.

 

USER REQUIREMENTS

The client produces a User Requirement Specification (URS) which specifies how the control system should operate.

 

SYSTEM SPECIFICATION

From the client URS, GPS produces the Software System Specification (SSS) which details all the actions that the software must generate.

 

PLC, HMI, SCADA

Our in-house programmers write the PLC software for the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller); the Human Machine Interface s/w (HMI) so a local operator can control / interrogate; and the remote Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA),which provides information on plant status, and the ability to change the function of the plant.

 

COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

Panels need to communicate with each other, the SCADA, and the field instruments, and GPS can produce and install all the individual networks to fit your specification. e.g.

MCC to MCC: Ethernet, Profinet

MCC to SCADA: Ethernet or Profinet

MCC to field instruments: Profibus

 

Other networks include Modbus Plus, Net10, and Data Highway Plus.
